Biography

Prof. Oluwasegun A. ADEKUNLE is a senior academic in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. He began his academic career at the University of Ibadan, as an Assistant Lecturer in 1991, and joined the services of University of Ilorin in July 2003 as a Senior Lecturer, and was promoted to the rank of a Full Professor in 2009. He was the Department Best student in his final year at the University of Ibadan, where he was awarded the Faculty ZARD Scholarship in 1986.

For his M.Sc. degree, he was a FEDERAL SCHOLAR, where he obtained Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarship in 1987/88 for his Ph.D. Prof Adekunle was a FORD FOUNDATION SCHOLAR (U.S.A./IITA, Ibadan) 1989-91. He has published in reputable international journals, and attended several academic/professional conferences, within and outside Nigeria. The Association of Commonwealth Universities, UK in Collaboration with LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Oyo State on 17th December, 2019 sponsored him to deliver a Lecture titled Mentoring in Nigeria University System: Principles and Practices for staff and students of LAUTECH, Ogbomosho. He is a Life Member of the Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria. Currently, he is the National President, International Research and Development Network of Children and Youth in Agriculture Programme (2016-March 2020, June 2023-till date). He was Head of Department at different times, and Acting Dean, Faculty of Agriculture between September and December, 2012. He has participated in numerous University Committees.
