For undergraduates interested in the Agricultural Extension and Rural Development program, they will be admitted to the five-year B. Agriculture program and awarded, the Bachelor of Agriculture at the end of the 500 Level. For those admitted through the UTME, the 100-level courses taken at the Faculty of Science are regarded as “prerequisites” for movement into the 200-level courses. Between the Harmattan Semester at the 200 Level and the end of the Harmattan Semester at the 300 Level, all students are exposed to theoretical and practical-based courses in the field of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development. In addition, they are expected to offer required courses in Crop Protection, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Animal Production Science, Food Science and Technology, Home Economics, Statistics, and Entrepreneurial and General Studies. The rainy semester and long vacation of 400 Level are devoted to the Industrial Training program which is an Internship program aimed at helping students have real-life industry experience. In their final year, students are admitted into the Agricultural Extension and Rural Development Department to fulfill their final-year undergraduate project requirement for graduation. Consequently, in the rain semester of the 500 level, students in the Department exclusively offer courses in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development and also undertake research projects in this field.
