Israel Ogunlade is a Professor of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. He started his career as an Agricultural Assistant in training with Oyo State Ministry of Agriculture in 1979. He obtained a Diploma in Agriculture with Distinction from the Institute of Agriculture, Research and Training, School of Agriculture, Akure in 1981. He worked briefly as an Agricultural Assistant in charge of fertilizer with Oyo State Agricultural Inputs and Service Unit, Ogbomosho in 1981 and later proceeded to teach Agricultural Science at Ilora Baptist Grammar School Oyo State in 1982. He obtained a B. Agric, and M.Sc. in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1987 and 1991 respectively. He bagged his PhD. Degree from the University of Ibadan in 2002.
He joined the service of the University of Ilorin as an Assistant Lecturer on January 31, 1992, and rose to the position of Professor in 2014. He is highly experienced in working with farmers and training the trainers. He has been exposed to many privileges of training and contributions to community development. His research interests have both shaped and been shaped by his recent teaching experiences and active participation in workshops and conferences.
